Governor Nyaribo promises to deliver his manifesto by April 2027

Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo says his administration is on course to deliver on the key development promises contained in his 2022 manifesto before the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during the funeral of Mzee Robinson Orucho at Mwencha in Ekerenyo Ward, Governor Nyaribo expressed confidence that he would have fulfilled his major campaign pledges by April 2027.

“I am doing the work you assigned me as Governor. By April next year, I ask you to take a pen and mark against every promise that I made during the 2022 campaigns. I will have delivered,” he said.

Nyaribo said the county was making progress in opening and upgrading roads to murram standards, insisting that no part of Nyamira would be left behind.

“By December 2026, we should have covered all wards, with at least 15 kilometres in each ward. Starting January 2027, we will start again from the first ward to the last one. All roads will be done,” he said.

The governor attributed the progress to the acquisition of road construction and maintenance machinery, which he said had strengthened the county’s capacity to improve and maintain its road network.

He said his administration was also addressing perennial drug shortages in county health facilities through increased funding to the Revolving Drug Fund (RDF).

“In the last financial year, we invested Sh300 million in the RDF. This year, we are adding another Sh200 million. We are saying goodbye to drug shortages. If you visit any dispensary and there is no drug, ask them to order from Nyamira and you can pick it later,” he said.

Nyaribo said the county had also invested in health infrastructure as part of efforts to improve service delivery and make healthcare facilities more accessible to residents.

The governor’s remarks come as county administrations across the country begin facing increased scrutiny over their performance ahead of the 2027 elections, when governors will seek to defend their records before voters.

Earlier, Nyaribo attended the burial of former councillor Geoffrey Nchore Masigwa at Gekendo Secondary School in the same ward.

He praised the two former leaders for their service to the public, describing them as individuals who served diligently in various capacities.

The funerals were attended by former North Mugirango MP Joseph Kiangoi, County Assembly Speaker Thaddeus Nyabaro, area MCA Jeremiah Ongaro and senior county government officials.
