- ¾ cup milk or water

Steps to Make Dumplings
- Prepare the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine the self-raising flour and salt. If you are using herbs, add them at this stage for extra flavor. - Add the Butter
Cut the butter into small pieces and rub it into the flour mixture using your fingertips. Continue mixing until the texture resembles breadcrumbs. - Add the Liquid
Slowly pour in the milk or water while stirring gently with a spoon or your hands. Mix until a soft dough forms, but avoid overworking it, as this can make the dumplings dense instead of fluffy. - Shape the Dumplings
Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into balls, about the size of a golf ball. - Cooking the Dumplings
