Whether you want to power it down temporarily or prepare it for storage, the process is quick and easy. Learning how to switch off Apple Watch helps you manage the device properly and maintain its performance. With a few simple steps, you can turn off your Apple Watch safely and restart it whenever needed.

      • Locate the Side Button
      • Press and Hold the Side Button
      • Use the Power Off Option
      • Wait for the Watch to Turn Off
      • Turn the Apple Watch Back On

      Locate the Side Button

    The Apple Watch has a side button located below the Digital Crown.

    This button is used to access power options and other features.

    • Identify the side button
    • Ensure the watch is unlocked
    • Keep the screen active
    1. Press and Hold the Side Button

    Press and hold the side button until the power menu appears on the screen.

    Do not press the Digital Crown during this process.

    • Hold the side button steadily
    • Wait for the power menu
    • Avoid releasing too early
    1. Use the Power Off Option

    When the power menu appears, look for the “Power Off” slider.

    Drag the slider to the right to turn off the watch.

    • Locate the Power Off slider
    • Swipe it to the right
    • Wait for shutdown to complete
    1. Wait for the Watch to Turn Off

    The screen will go dark once the Apple Watch powers down completely.

    This may take a few seconds.

    • Allow the device to shut down fully
    • Confirm the screen is off
    • Avoid pressing buttons during shutdown
    1. Turn the Apple Watch Back On

    To switch the watch back on, press and hold the side button again until the Apple logo appears.

    The watch will restart normally.

    • Hold the side button
    • Wait for the Apple logo
    • Allow the watch to start fully
