Huruma Ward residents, Uasin Gishu county are unhappy with their assistant chief, Jennifer Rono whom they have accused of corruption and arrogance.
Ms Rono residents have intimated is to blame for the availability of illicit brew in the area. The area apparently losses four to five youths every month to the brew and drugs.
The administrator. a weekly publication reveals, works with Administration Police officers at Shauri AP Camp and officers from Baharini Police Station to secure the brewers and drug peddlers freedom.
“The height of impunity is when Rono goes around the ward on a motor bike ridden by her husband while collecting bribes from brewing dens,” a resident said.
It has also been said that she demands that youths seeking to apply for their national identity cards and birth certificates, part with a little bit of cash before signing any documents for them.
In July residents were surprised to hear that Rono had single-handedly fired 10 village elders who she said were “old and disloyal.”
