    Eduardo Kuno Becker Paz, professionally known as Kuno Becker, is a Mexican actor, director, and writer born on January 14, 1978, in Mexico City, Mexico.

    Raised in a family with a rich cultural heritage, Becker initially pursued a career in music, studying violin at the prestigious Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, from the age of six.

    His early passion for music saw him train under renowned instructors like Ruggiero Ricci, but at seventeen, he shifted his focus to acting, a decision that would define his illustrious career in the entertainment industry.

    Becker’s Mexican roots, coupled with his German descent through his father, have shaped his identity as a versatile performer with a global appeal.

    Kuno grew up alongside two siblings, Gunther Becker Paz and Karine Becker Paz, in Mexico City.

    Gunther Becker Paz, born in the early 1970s, is the elder brother of Kuno and Karine.

    Little is known about Gunther’s personal or professional life, as he maintains a private presence, and details about his education or career remain undisclosed in public records.

    Karine Becker Paz, born in the early 1980s, is Kuno’s younger sister.

    Like Gunther, Karine leads a private life, and information about her educational background or professional endeavors is scarce.

    Career

    After abandoning his aspirations as a professional violinist, Becker enrolled at Televisa’s Centro de Educación Artística (CEA), where he was selected from over 3,200 applicants.

    His acting career began in the late 1990s with roles in Mexican telenovelas such as Para Toda la Vida and Soñadoras, the latter earning him widespread recognition for his portrayal of Ruben Berrizabal.

    His breakthrough in cinema came with the Goal! trilogy (2005–2009), where he played Santiago Muñez, a young footballer chasing his dreams, a role that brought him international fame.

    Becker’s filmography extends beyond Goal!, with notable appearances in La Hija del Caníbal (2002) alongside Cecilia Roth, Imagining Argentina (2004) with Antonio Banderas and Emma Thompson, and the historical epic Nomad (2006).

    He also lent his voice to Lightning McQueen in the Latin American Spanish dubbing of Disney’s Cars series.

    Becker has ventured into directing and writing, with projects like Panic 5 Bravo (2013), El día de la unión (2018), and Ánima (2020).

    His television work includes a recurring role as Esteban Navarro in CSI: Miami (2011–2012) and a stint as Drew Ramos in the American drama series Dallas (2012–2014).

    Accolades

    In 2000, Becker won two TVyNovelas Awards for Best Young Lead Actor and Best Male Revelation for his role in the telenovela Mujeres Engañadas, highlighting his early success in Mexican television.

    In 2007, he received a Premios Juventud award in the “Can He Act or What?” category for his performance in Goal!, reflecting his growing influence in international cinema.

    Additionally, Becker has been honored with the Mexican Heraldo Award and the Califas de Oro Award, both recognizing his contributions as one of Mexico’s finest young actors.
