Former NTV anchor and now Deputy Director of Communications at the Presidential Delivery Unit (PDU) Laban Cliff received quite the tongue lashing after an invite to his wedding fundraiser made rounds on the internet.
Laban and his longtime girlfriend Laura Damaris invited their friends and family to an “LnL shower and fun day on 11th November 2018, at 2pm” with gifts in monetary form to bless the couple.
“Kindly consider to carry a gift (Kshs) to bless LnL,” read the invite card in part.
According to journalist Peter Oduor, Laban’s fundraiser was unnecessary, noting that he can live without throwing a grand ceremony.
Other social media users noted that the move was vane and utter nonsense because no one really needs an extravagant wedding.
