Two men were attacked and killed in a love triangle saga in a village in Kipkelion, Kericho County.

The assailant was angry after he found a man with his girlfriend in Kapkwen village on Sunday, January 4, 2026.

Police said the suspected assailant was armed with a knife and a club when he first attacked and killed Zachariah Bii, 40 and later Pius Chepkwony, 20.

The assailant is said to have first met Bii in a house belonging to his girlfriend. This, according to the police, angered him and confronted the man killing on the spot.

A neighbour who heard Bii screaming for help responded and was also fatally attacked.

Police said the assailant with his girlfriend escaped the scene. The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

The hunt on the assailant continued on Monday even as police appealed to him to surrender for his own safety.

Elsewhere in Ratado area, Siaya County, a man was found dead in a banana plantation after suspected murder.

Police said the body of Zacharia Muhoroni, 50 was found in the area after his murder.

The motive of the murder was not known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and probe.

And police rescued a mother and her two children moments after they had been abducted by a gang of four men from their Isinya home in Kajiado County.

The woman and her children were getting to their compound in Metro area when they were confronted and forced into a waiting Subaru Forester car by four men on board who were armed with knives and crude weapons.

The car was driven towards the Kiserian area with the abductors demanding Sh400,000 from the victims’ family as ransom for their release.

Police were informed of the drama and blocked major routes in the area. The team found the car abandoned in the Kiserian area with the victims safe. The gang stole the victims’ mobile phones and escaped on foot. Police said the hunt on the gang is ongoing.
