    Man clobbered to death in fight in Kitui village

    A man died after he was hit in the head by a wood during an altercation in Nzombe, Kitui County.

    Police said Kavu Kamwana was seriously assaulted in Matikoni village and sustained severe injuries

    He was rushed to Zombe Sub County Hospital, where he was later referred to Kitui County Referral Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

    A suspect was later arrested over the murder incident.

    Police said they recovered a piece of wood that was used in the attack.

    The suspect was detained pending arraignment while the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.

    The motive of the confrontation is yet to be known.

    Elsewhere, two suspects were separately lynched by mobs in Nairobi and Nyeri.

    The first incident happened in Kware, Embakasi, Nairobi where a man was attacked and killed by a mob after being accused of being a thief.

    He had allegedly attempted to steal clothes from a cloth line at a residential apartment when he was accosted by an irate mob and subjected him to mob injustice where he sustained head injuries resulting to his death.

    Police said eight female underwears, red jacket, and a t-shirt were recovered from the suspect and kept as exhibits.

    In Naromoru, Nyeri County, a man was lynched over claims he had stolen livestock.

    Police said they found the lifeless body of the middle-aged man with multiple panga cuts on his head and both legs.

    It was alleged that the deceased had stolen a sheep from a resident of the Gathiuru Sub Location.

    The body was moved to the Nanyuki Referral Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination and identification.

    Meanwhile, a man aged 39 drowned as he crossed a river in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County.

    The incident happened in Kiwato Kaptabee village’s Sosiani River.

    Police officers visited the scene and with the help of the locals retrieved the body which was positively identified as Ezekiel Kiprop Maiyo, a resident of Katanin Village.

    The body was taken to Kimbilio mortuary awaiting postmortem.
