    Man found dead in his house in Lang’ata

    Police are investigating the death of a 69-year-old man whose body was found in his house in Ciwaka area, Langata, Nairobi.

    He was identified as Benjamin Kamau, a retired banker.

    His body was found on the bed with blood stains in the toilet. Police said there was blood oozing from his mouth when he was found.

    His relative was concerned he was not responding to the calls which prompted him to go and check on him when he found the body lying on bed.

    The cause of the death, which was reported on December 9, was not immediately established. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    Meanwhile, police in Musanda, Kakamega County are investigating an incident where a man was found dead in his house after murder.

    The body of David Ombaka, 49 was found lying on the floor of his bedroom long after his death.

    The body had multiple injuries in the head. It is believed he was killed at the scene. Witnesses said four men broke into the house and attacked him using sharp objects. The motive of the attack and murder was not immediately known.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.

    Elsewhere in Nyangiti, Mathoya, Muranga County, the body of one Aron Maina Mwati, 38 was found floating on Mathioya River after suspected drowning.

    The body is believed to have been swept to the area in Gikunguru village after the incident.

    Police said the body was removed from the water and taken to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    And a carpenter died after falling from the 12th floor of a house under construction along Juja Road, Nairobi.

    Enos Odhiambo, 20 was among workers at the site on Tuesday evening when he slipped through a void and landed on the second floor of the building.

    He was rushed to a nearby hospital in Eastleigh where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures, police said.

    Such deaths have been common at construction sites amid calls for contractors to prioritise the workers’ safety.
