A man aged 50 was found dead in his house after he had been assaulted in Embali village, Vihiga County.
Police said Frank Atero Indiakha had visible injuries in the leg with a fracture in the femur after the attack.
The motive of the attack was not immediately known but police said the deceased had mentioned those behind the same before he succumbed in his house.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigation. The hunt for the three men that the deceased mentioned as his attackers is ongoing, police said.

The man told police the deceased Valentine Shimbweche, 23 died after falling sick.
Police detained the man pending investigations and including an autopsy on the body of the woman.
Police said they want to understand the circumstances under which the woman died.
