Police in Hamisi, Vihiga County, are investigating the suspected murder of a 43-year-old man whose decomposing body was discovered inside his house in Kipchikwen Sub-location, Banja Location.

The deceased, identified as Patrick Singara, was discovered on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, after his brother raised the alarm upon finding him lifeless inside the house.

Singara was last seen alive on October 31 at around 2pm within his compound, where he lived alone, police said.

Police officers rushed to the scene and found the body inside the house and established the deceased had sustained horrific injuries, including a deep cut on his upper left hand, a chopped-off right ear and a swollen head. Blood was also seen oozing from his mouth and nose.

Preliminary police reports indicate that investigators suspect Singara may have been murdered elsewhere before his body was brought to the house, possibly three days before its discovery.

The scene was processed by police officers and DCI detectives, although no exhibits were recovered.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing, the possible motive and the identity of those responsible.

Elsewhere, police in Nandi County launched investigations into the killing of a 22-year-old man who allegedly died after a confrontation with his brother in Koyo Location, Nandi South Sub-County.

The deceased, identified as Brian Kiptanui, reportedly sustained serious head injuries during an argument with his brother on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Kiptanui was allegedly struck on the head during the confrontation and collapsed.

He was rushed to Kaptumo Sub-County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The scene was processed before the body was moved to Good Samaritan Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the events that led to the fatal confrontation between the two brothers.

Meanwhile, police in Kakamega East Sub-County are investigating the death of an unidentified man whose body was discovered along the Murhanda-Shinyalu Road near Lirhanda Centre.

The body of the man, believed to be aged between 20 and 25, was found lying face down on the road on Tuesday morning, November 3, 2026.

Preliminary investigations established that the deceased had been seen at Lirhanda Trading Centre on Monday night, November 2, at around 10pm.

Witnesses reportedly observed him talking to himself incoherently and appearing confused. He was unable to explain his identity, where he came from or where he was headed.

He was last seen walking towards Shinyalu before his body was discovered approximately 50 metres from the trading centre the following morning.

Police who processed the scene noted that the man’s face and right palm were swollen.

The body was moved to Kakamega County General Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending identification and a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding his death and trace his relatives.
