    Man killed after attempting to snatch cop’s firearm outside GSU college in Embakasi

    A man was shot dead after allegedly attempting to snatch a firearm from police officers at the main gate of the National Police B Campus in Embakasi, Nairobi, on Saturday morning.

    According to police, the incident occurred at Gate D at approximately 6:57 a.m. when an unidentified adult male approached officers manning the entrance and allegedly tried to forcibly seize one of their firearms.

    During the confrontation, the man reportedly stabbed the General Service Unit police constable in the neck, seriously injuring the officer.

    The officers responded by shooting the assailant in the head. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

    The officer was rushed to Reale Hospital before being referred to Modern Komarock Hospital for further treatment.

    The scene was processed and documented by the Embakasi Crime Scene Investigation team, while the deceased’s body was moved to Nairobi Funeral Home pending identification and further investigations.

    The circumstances surrounding the man’s actions and the motive for the alleged attack remain under investigation.

    Police said they were profiling the said assailant for more information on him. His motives were not immediately known.

    And police in Ruiru, Kiambu County, have arrested a 23-year-old man and recovered a revolver pistol during a night patrol along the Agape-Gikumari Road.

    The incident occurred on September 11, 2026, at about 9.03pm.

    Police officers were conducting patrols along the road when they encountered a group of young men standing at a road junction in a dark alley.

    The officers said the group became aggressive when challenged, prompting them to intervene.

    Police arrested one of the men, identified as Alex Kamau Muthoni, 23, and conducted a quick search.

    The search led to the recovery of a Weihrauch HW7 eight-shot revolver pistol from his possession.

    No ammunition was found on the suspect, according to the report.
