Mandago Welcomes NASA Support, irks Jubilee and Ruto

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has welcomed the endorsement by NASA for his gubernatorial re-election, angering a section of Jubilee leaders in the county.

Yesterday at a campaign rally in Eldoret, NASA leaders urged supporters to back Mandago bid.

Jubilee leaders now accuse Mandago of having a secret MoU with NASA which he is not making public but which they claim is to support Raila.

Sources say Mandago is among Jubilee Leaders said to be silently supporting NASA at night but associating with Jubilee during the day.

NASA has nearly 100,000 supporters in Uasin Gishu, mainly the Luo, Luhya and Kisii migrant communities. Both Mandago and Buzeki are scrambling for this vote bloc.

The Uasin Gishu governor has not been a Ruto ‘insider’ with the two forced to work together for convenience sake.

In 2013, Ruto backed university don Prof Julius Bittok against Mandago. In 2017, Mandago insiders believe Ruto and President Uhuru are behind the candidature of billionaire businessman Bundotich Buzeki.

Mandago thanked NASA for the support.
