Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe is yet to be released despite being freed by court on bail on Tuesday, her friend Dennis Itumbi has revealed.
Maribe was released on a cash bail of Sh1 million or a bond of Sh2 million by Justice James Wakiaga as her fiance Joe Irungu alias Jowie remained in remand.
According to Itumbi, the news anchor spent another night in remand after the Deputy Registrar “declined to sign the letter committing documents to land registry and registrar of persons yesterday. We decided to wait for today.”
“This morning family and friends reported at the High Court at 7am and the Deputy Registrar signed a letter that was on her desk from last evening at 11am. No problem with that, we can live with that…” Itumbi tweeted.
Problem is after that we were told there is an order that "UPON release the investigating officer and the advocate will take an inventory of house" we argued that is UPON release. So they dropped that line…

Next we needed a prosecutor from @ODPP_KE and obviously none was willing to get on record. So we decided to tweet.

It is after the tweets that calls that were previously not going through to the DCI and DPP officials started being returned, he stated.
Ms Maribe has been in remand for a little over a month after she was charged with the murder of 28 year old businesswoman, Monica Kimani.
Her fiance, Jowie, was denied bail on grounds that he is a possible flight risk and has access to weapons.
