Mathare Constituency Member of Parliament Antony Oluoch is mourning the death of his father, Mzee Charles Antony Ondieki.
In a statement on Wednesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga announced the passing, saying Mzee Ondieki died after a 15-year battle with cancer.
“I know this is an incredibly painful loss to your family, and pray that you find strength and comfort to endure this heartbreaking time,” Raila said.
He added that he personally knew the late Ondieki, having worked with him at the Kenya Bureau of Standards in the 1970s.
“Kanyakwar has indeed lost a towering pillar of the community – as has the greater Kisumu County,” Raila noted.
