Detectives are investigating an incident where a man was found dead after being shot by unknown assailants in Murukutwa location at Chesogoch centre, Elgeyo Marakwet.
Police said they found the body of Boniface Ingote, 40 with three gunshot wounds, lying lifeless in a room, at the back of a motorcycle spare shop, where he had been employed as a mechanic.
At the scene, a spent cartridge of 7.62mm special and two bullet heads of the same caliber were recovered, police said.
Police said they are investigating murder in the incident. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.
In Imenti, Meru County, a fight between two brothers turned deadly when one of them was fatally slashed. The two were fighting over the harvesting of termites in their compound.
The deceased identified as Godfrey Ngugi, 48 was attacked with a panga and died on the spot.
His brother also sustained serious cuts in the fight and is admitted in hospital.
The brothers had picked a quarrel over termites that one of their sons was harvesting in the village. The injured brother was admitted in hospital under police watch while the deceased body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations, police said of the tragedy in Miruriri village.
In Dukana, Marsabit County, an expectant woman was shot and injured in an attack on a home.
The woman who is seven months pregnant was admitted in the hospital with serious bullet wounds in the shoulder.
Police said they are pursuing the gunmen behind the attack. It is suspected the gang was on a revenge mission following an earlier attack in North Horr where two men had been killed.
More personnel were sent to the area to stop further planned retaliations.
