Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua says that the National Super Alliance (NASA) swearing in ceremony is one of the reasons why Kenya is considered a ‘shithole’ country by some.
NASA has threatened to swear in Raila Odinga as the People’s President on Tuesday based on the August 8 results.
The opposition has released the results for the nullified presidential election which Siaya Senator, James Orengo says are authentic and unadulterated.
Odinga will be sworn in in the full glare of the public but the judge presiding over the event still unknown.
”This swearing in business by NASA is another example of why some people consider our continent to be a SHITHOLE continent. How do you get “sworn” in when a tough Chief Justice has already sworn in another leader? Only in Africa. Shame!” Governor Mutua exclaimed.
”As an individual, a Governor and as a Party Leader, I ask these leaders that I respect, to stop these games and let me and my generations and the millennials get on with our lives. We want to initiate amazing development. We want services and not demos. We want peace and not violence. We want to attend weddings and baby showers and not funerals. We want our lives back from these leaders who have been playing with them. We want to be given respect and not seen as children of a Shithole land.”
The governor accused the opposition of trying to force the government into a power sharing deal as was in 2007.
”My instinct tells me that the NASA brigade wants to force a dialogue for nusu mkate as has been done before. The bravado for swearing in is so that they can pour youth to the streets and start burning the country so that the rest of us who desire peace, tell President Uhuru to give them what they want. It is called blackmail. Only happens in a Shithole country,” the county boss added.
A fake letter doing rounds on social media, purportedly from Chief Justice David Maraga cautioned judges and magistrates from engaging in the oath taking activity.

But the CJ’s office has distanced itself from the letter saying that ‘he has no authority to instruct any judicial officer what to do or not to do.’
Attorney General Githu Muigai has warned the opposition against forming a parallel government as it is treasonable.
