Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo is in the eye of a storm of alleged deteriorating services in the troubled devolved unit.

Governorship hopeful 2027 James Kemoni spoke of worsening state of public services across the region since Nyaribo came to power.

“Healthcare facilities are quickly crumbling, the roads, even those within the County capitol, Nyamira town, are in a bad state yet he is doing nothing, it just appals the conscience,” said Kemoni.

He was speaking at Nyangoso Catholic Church Monday.

He said provision of essential services has been on the sharp wane during the governor’s tenure.

Kemoni further accused the administration of neglect, mismanagement and a lack of transparency in the use of public funds.

“The people are suffering while the governor remains aloof and silent. We demand immediate action,” he stated adding that given an electoral mandate he can turn things round.

The governor, stated Kemoni, has been giving a litany of excuses when challenged about unfulfilled promises.

“It is not for naughty that people are angry, they are right in lamenting as they agitate for action,” he told journalists.

Kemoni separately called for enhanced security in Borabu Sub-county following a growing spate of cattle theft.

“This is not just a crime against property — it is a crime against livelihoods,” he said.

Kemoni stated, “Our communities rely heavily on cattle for income and food. We cannot allow criminals to continue disrupting their lives with impunity.”

Borabu MP Patrick Osero has already raised alarm of the resurgence of the wave of cattle theft in the area.

There had been at least five incidents of cattle theft every month the MP recently said further claiming the thieves are armed and operate at night.

Kemoni called for a collaborative approach between communities, law enforcement, and local administrators to combat the menace.

“Let there be collaboration between the residents, chiefs and the police so that we end this madness once and for all,” he stated.
