Police in Narok have arrested one suspect and launched a manhunt for others seen in a viral video assaulting a woman in Narok Central Sub-County.

Police spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga confirmed the incident happened in Mbene, Ngarite area, Narok Central.
“The service strongly condemns this egregious act, which constitutes gender-based violence, assault, and kidnapping. These are criminal acts punishable under Kenyan law,” Nyaga said.

The woman was rescued and rushed to hospital, where she is receiving treatment.

Nyaga said investigations have already started, leading to the arrest of one suspect who is in custody awaiting arraignment.
“Police are still in hot pursuit of the remaining perpetrators with the objective of apprehending them to face justice,” he added.

Police thanked members of the public for sharing information that helped in the rescue and arrest and urged anyone with more details to come forward.
