Police in Maai Mahiu Police Station are investigating an abduction incident involving a businessman from Ol Kalou Township in Nyandarua County.

According to the police, the incident was reported on May 9, 2026, when the victim, Kenneth Njuguna Njohi told police that he was abducted on the evening of May 8 at around 7 pm while in Ol Kalou town.

The victim, who was accompanied to the station by three other men, alleged that the abductors were using three vehicles. Their details were not captured.

He said the suspects blocked his car before three armed men alighted, fired several shots into the air and forcibly removed him from his vehicle.

He told investigators the gang bundled him into a white Toyota vehicle of an unknown model before speeding off as the other two cars followed behind.

The victim further claimed that upon reaching the Ndumberi area, the abductors blindfolded and handcuffed him before removing him from the car.

He alleged that other individuals, including a woman, joined the group and shaved his hair before subjecting him to beatings.

He was later allegedly bundled back into the vehicle and dumped at Karima area in Maai Mahiu, where members of the public rescued him and assisted him in reporting the matter to police.

Police said they confirmed the incident, and investigations are ongoing to establish the motive behind the alleged abduction and identify those responsible.

Njohi is a popular commentator in the social media. The action is believed to be linked to politics in the area.

He appeared on the social media on Saturday saying he was safe but protested he had been tortured and shaved.

Police they are investigating the incident and no arrest had been made so far.

Several political leaders in the area condemned the incident and demanded action on those behind the same.

No arrest had been made by Sunday amid push for action.
