South Sudanese citizens living in Kenya together with friends of South Sudan from Kenya, led a peaceful protest in Nairobi CBD to forward a petition to Parliament and to the Ministry of Foreign affairs.

The protesters led by Daniel Deng and Boniface Mwangi, are demanding for the sanction of Kenyan banks contributing to the looting of resources and money laundering by South Sudanese officials.

This protest comes after the airing of an investigative piece titled, Profiteers, by John Allan Namu, through his media company, Africa Uncensored.

The investigative piece gave names of South Sudanese officials who were engaging in money laundering, corruption and other crimes in South Sudan and other East African Countries.

This caused KTN News house to refuse to air the film because it mentioned names of prominent politicians from South Sudan.

The protesters want the ministry to explain how and why individuals from South Sudan who are under UNSC sanctions continue to maintain lavish lifestyle in Kenya.

They request the government to freeze the assets of criminal South Sudanese leaders.
