Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia has termed NASA leader Raila Odinga’s push for People’s Assembly as a “selfish agenda” that is dividing Kenyans along tribal lines.
Kimemia, a former Secretary to the Cabinet, during the swearing in of his County Cabinet hit out at Odinga and asked him “to retire without the side shows that are the people’s assembly motions being tabled in the county assemblies”.
He dismissed the motions as “needless and stupid” adding that it was irrelevant in a stable country like Kenya.
He urged fellow Governors not allow the country go down the drain due to “one person’s self-centered desires.”
“This country must not go down the drain just because they (NRM leaders ) lost in the elections, their rebellious move is costing the country billions of shillings,”he added.
Kimemia pointed out that Kenya will only move forward if President Uhuru Kenyatta is sworn in.
“We need to come together and get the president sworn-in for this country to move on,” the former head of public service reiterated.

The opposition strongholds; Siaya, Homa Bay, Bungoma, Kisumu, Vihiga and Busia have already passed the motions.
The assemblies will be charged with coming up with suggestions of how to change the Constitution; including the structure of government and the elections regime.
