Detectives are investigating the murder of a refugee whose body was found abandoned on the roadside in Dadaab’s Ifo camp, Garissa County.
The deceased was not immediately identified after the murder on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, police said.
His body was found in a bush on Ifo-Hagadera feeder road long after he had been killed. The motive of the murder was not immediately established.
The body had fresh, deep cuts in the back of the neck and abdomen, and was moved to a local mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
Elsewhere in Malaika, Kakamega County, police are investigating murder after the body of a woman was found floating on river Isiukhu.
The incident happened in Bukasi village. Police said they were called to the area and found locals had retrieved the body that was partially decomposed.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy processes.
The motive of the murder, if any, was not immediately known.
Elsewhere in Nairegie Enkare area, Narok County, a woman was found murdered and her body trapped under a motorcycle.
She was identified as Jane Lasio, 45. She had died on Mpeuti-Centre C Murram road with her left hand fractured and trapped in the rear wheel of the motorcycle, police said.
The body was half naked then, police said as they moved it to the mortuary pending an autopsy. A rider who had the motorcycle was missing at the scene, police said.
Police said they are investigating murder in the saga.
Murder cases have been on the rise in different parts of the country amid efforts to solve them.
Police say up to eight murder cases are reported daily in the country. There is a fully fledged homicide team that is handling such complex incidents and so far they have managed to solve some of them, police say.
