    Reveler clobbered to death over Sh450 bill at Kisii bar

    Two bar attendants were arrested for murder of a reveler at a joint in Nyankongo area, Kisii County.

    Job Momanyi, 25 succumbed to the injuries in hospital following an assault at a bar on New Year’s Day.

    He and other friends had been to a bar for drinks and accrued a bill of Sh450 that they were unable to settle.

    This prompted the attendants to confront the revelers and beat two of them using beer bottles.

    The deceased was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to the injuries.

    Police visited the bar and arrested the two attendants for grilling and possible arraignment.

    The suspects are expected in court on January 5, police said.

    Elsewhere in Nyamaiya, Nyamira County, the body of a man was found along Miruka-Masosa road after a suspected murder.

    The man was identified as Charles Magak Owino, 60 and lay in a pool of blood. He was naked at the time of the discovery. He had injuries on the head. His personal items including a wallet, slippers and handkerchief were found in a nearby thicket.

    Police said they are yet to establish the motive of the murder. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

    In Holo area, Kisumu County, a child aged eight was killed in a fire incident.

    Police said the parents of the child had left for a funeral event on Saturday and left her with other siblings when the fire broke out.

    The other siblings managed to escape the scene leaving the pupil at the Lisuka Comprehensive School therein where she died. The remains were moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. Police said they are yet to establish the cause of the 3 am fire incident. The police said they want to establish if the fire was started intentionally.
