Nairobi Senator, Johnson Sakaja brokered a deal with the National Super Alliance (NASA) to have them call off the January 30 swearing in ceremony, Gatundu South MP, Moses Kuria has revealed.

According to the legislator, the first time senator had Embakasi East MP, Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino released from jail and in return Raila Odinga will not take the oath of office.

Babu was arrested on Friday outside Parliament buildings by 17 flying squad officers and later taken to Parklands Police Station where he was held for two days.

He was charged with ‘harboring an intention to overthrow the government and assault.’

Sakaja had him released on free bond and will present before court today (Monday).

The Embakasi East MP says that the Jubilee government was trying to sabotage his leadership by having him arrested for the third time since he took oath of office.

In fact, he said, the ruling regime was using a senior officer and his rival Francis Mureithi.

But attending a People’s Assembly meeting in Mombasa on Sunday, Raila Odinga maintained that they were going forward with the inauguration plans.

The ruling regime is trying to take Kenya back to ‘Egypt’ but the journey to ‘Canaan’ well on course.

What could also serve as a hindrance to the swearing in ceremony is the fact that the venue, Uhuru Park has already been booked by the Nairobi Business Community.

They will be holding a medical camp on January 30, same time as the ceremony.
