Former Salaries and Remunerations commission (SRC) chairperson and nominated envoy to China Sarah Serem was forced to apologize for her strict stance during her tenure at the commission.

She said that she was only a mouthpiece for the commission and that the decisions that she put across were the joint decisions of the commission and that she had no intention of stepping on the toes of the members of parliament. She stated that she only had good intentions for Kenyans

“When given a job, I do my best and I do not give excuses for not doing my best. If that has not been interesting and if I have offended anyone in anyway, I am sorry for but I meant well for Kenya and Kenyans,” the former SRC boss stated.

Members of the Defence and Foreign Relations Committee however termed her as arrogant and would therefore be unable to relate with Kenyan delegations to China.

She defended herself saying that she was the best person for the job as she sat in many boards because of her ability to resolve conflicts. She asked the committee to not only focus on her tenure at the SRC. He said that the members of parliament were only ones who did not understand her.
