Detectives are investigating the murder of a scrap metal dealer whose decomposing body was found dumped on a backstreet of Holo Market, Kisumu County.

He was identified as Rogers Shishiali, who had been working at a local scrap metal dealer.

The motive of the murder was not immediately established, police said. The decomposed body was discovered on Wednesday, November 12 afternoon, long after the man had died.

Police suspect he was killed elsewhere and the body was dumped at the scene. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

Meanwhile, police in Kapletundo, Bomet County arrested a suspect in connection with the murder of one Cyrus Kiplangat on July 23, 2025 in an altercation.

The suspect was expected to be produced in court on Thursday as police sought permission to hold him for further probe.

In Gede, Watamu, Kilifi County, one Rashid Fodo, 43 succumbed to his injuries that he sustained on October 16 in an altercation with a group of people at a palm den.

The man died at the Kilifi Hospital on Wednesday after weeks of admission. Police said they are now investigating murder in the saga. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations as the hunt on the suspected assailants goes on.

Meanwhile, a suspect was lynched after he and his accomplices unsuccessfully tried to snatch a mobile phone from a pedestrian in Donholm, Nairobi.

The body of the man was found lying on the roadside along Outering Road long after he had been killed, police said. His accomplices had escaped the mob wrath in the Wednesday evening drama.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy. Police discourage mob lynching and term it criminal. They want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and action.
