A senior police officer was attacked and injured by hot water in his house in Likoni, Mombasa County.

The officer of the rank of inspector is attached to the DCI Koloa in Baringo County.

He was on leave and had joined his family in Likoni when a quarrel broke between him and his wife. Police said the wife attacked him using hot water leaving him with serious injuries in the face.

The wife escaped the scene after the October 21, 2025 incident. Police were informed of the incident after it had happened and the officer was admitted to hospital.

Efforts to trace the suspect for grilling were ongoing on Wednesday, Coast police boss Ali Nuno said.

A team of police officers who visited the victim in hospital said he was in a stable condition. It is not clear what triggered the fight that turned tragic.

Such domestic fights have been on the rise in some parts of the country amid calls on parties to solve their differences amicably.

Police statistics show some of those involved in the fights end up dead. This has affected families negatively. A team of detectives is rushing to solve the cases.

Elsewhere in Kalemngorok, Turkana County, a member of the National Police Reserve was shot and seriously injured in an ambush by unknown gunmen.

The victim told police he was coming from their Kapelbok village when he was shot in the belly on Tuesday October 21, 2025.

The assailants escaped without stealing anything from the victim.

The NPR play a crucial role in maintaining security in the area. They are used in addressing insecurity in the vast areas where policing is difficult due to scarce resources.

Police believe he was targeted because of his role in taming banditry in the area.
