Detectives are looking for a gang of three that shot and injured a guard in a failed robbery in Komarock area, Nairobi.
The guard was shot and wounded in the left thigh after he tried to inquire from the assailants who they were. The incident happened on Sunday morning. Witnesses said they saw men in masks who were armed with pistols.
It was then that the guard sought to know who the men were. Instead, he was shot in the left thigh by the gang, who later escaped.
The guard was rushed to Modern Komarocks Hospital and referred to Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital. Police officers visited the scene and recovered one spent cartridge of 9mm and later proceeded to Mama Lucy Kibaki hospital, where they found the victim undergoing treatment in stable condition.
Police said they are looking for the suspects behind the shooting.
Meanwhile, a man was killed in Uyawi sub-location, Bondo in an attempted robbery incident.
The man was lynched by a mob after he attacked and stabbed a bodaboda rider in the area. It was established that on April 26 at around 9 pm a woman was being ridden on a motorcycle when they were waylaid by a man who emerged from a thicket.
The attacker stabbed the man identified as Mark Oracha as the mother screamed for help. Neighbours responded swiftly, and the suspect was subjected to mob injustice killing him.
The injured are admitted at Bondo Sub-County Hospital in fair condition, while the body of the deceased was taken to Bondo Sub-County Hospital mortuary awaiting autopsy and identification.
In Nzambani, Kitui County, a man was found dead outside his house after murder.
The body of Charles Musyoka, 68 was found lying outside his house long after the murder. Blood was oozing from his mouth, ear, and nose at the time of the discovery, police said.
No physical injury was noted at the scene and the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy, police said.
