U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that his administration will release approximately 80,000 pages of classified files related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy. The documents are set to be made public on Tuesday.

“People have been waiting for decades for this,” Trump told reporters during a visit to The Kennedy Center in Washington. “It’s going to be very interesting.”

Earlier this year, Trump signed an executive order instructing the federal government to develop a plan for releasing records related to the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, his brother Robert Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.

In February, the FBI revealed it had discovered thousands of additional documents linked to Kennedy’s assassination. Trump had previously signed an order during his first week in office to facilitate the release of these records, as well as those concerning the 1968 assassinations of Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr.
