Two Ugandan players plying their trade with Zambian Super League side Lusaka Dynamos are stranded in the country long after the season ended and are desperate to go home.

Defender Yakubu Ramathan cannot travel because the club lost his passport in the process of shifting their physical offices, while goalkeeper Mugabi Yasin’s travel documents have been allegedly held by the club.

The two are also owed eight-month salary amounting to $18,000 and are also demanding to be paid their sign on fee of $30,000 per player, according to Rama.

“We have been asking them to clear our documents since last month but they are just taking us in circles. We have been held hostage here. We want to go home and be with our families,” Rama told Kahawa Tungu.

In a letter to the Regional Immigration Officer in Lusaka, the club admits that they indeed lost Rama’s passport and are seeking to have him cleared to travel to Uganda to replace it.

“During a physical relocation of our offices last month, we had unfortunately misplaced Mr. Yakubu’s passport and it is now lost.

“There is need for Mr. Yakubu to travel back to Uganda where he can reapply for the lost passport, however he will require a travel document to make this possible,” the latter, written by Francis Bwalya, reads partly.

Uganda does not have an embassy in Zambia and the players are now feeling helpless in a foreign land.

Rama is alleging that that Bwalya, who is part of the club’s management “is now intimidating us and telling us that he will not do anything about our situation.”

“We are the only foreign players still here and we want to go home to our families. They are now ignoring our calls,” he added.
