    University Of Nairobi Denies Death Of Student After Police Raid

    The University of Nairobi has said that no student has died following the incident of anti riot police assaulting students in their halls of residence contrary to reports that one student had succumbed to injuries.

    The institution however admitted that 27 student had been injured during the incident.

    On Thursday last week the police raided the halls of resident in a what they alleged to be efforts to quell protest that were on going.The students were protesting for the release of former SONU chairman Babu Owino .

    The Inspector General while appearing in an interview at NTV  said that the police entered the University at the request of the institution in order to restore calm.
