‘A United Luhya Nation Stands A Chance At The Presidency,’ Wetangula Says

A solid Mulembe nation will produce the fifth President of Kenya come 2022, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has said.

The legislator who spoke during the Soi Sambu Mitwa ward representative, Stephen Wafula’s homecoming said that a united Luhya community stood a better chance at crowning one of their own as President.

”We as Luhyas were once confused with each going his way. But that has long been solved when ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and I came together and decided to walk together,” he said.

In fact, the senator claimed he will beat Deputy President William Ruto who is set to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.

The presidency, he noted should not be a two tribe affair; from a Kikuyu to a Kalenjin.

”When the presidential ball comes from Mzee Jomo Kenyatta it goes to Daniel Moi, when it comes from Moi it goes to Mwai Kibaki, when it comes from Kibaki it goes to Uhuru Kenyatta; now they want it back to William Ruto,” the Ford Kenya party leader complained.

He also intimated that NASA leader Raila Odinga will not vie for the presidency in 2022, but will instead hand over the mantle to one of the co-principals.

”We agreed with Raila that the August election was the last polls he will be participating in and he will throw the ball back to one of the principals,” Wetangula, who is also the leader of minority in the Senate said.

But word has it that Wiper leader, Kalonzo Musyoka signed an MOU with Odinga which will see him face off with DP Ruto in 2022.

Which then begs the question, will NASA be solid in 2022 or will internal wrangles see Ruto secure an easy win against a divided opposition?
