Xolo has one sibling, an older sister named Oshún Ramirez.

Growing up in an upper-middle-class household in Los Angeles, Xolo has often spoken about the influence of his family, including his sister, in keeping him grounded amid his rising fame.

    Career

Xolo’s career kicked off at a young age, sparked by an early exposure to the entertainment world when his mother brought him to a radio station just three days after his birth.

By age nine, he was auditioning for commercials and print ads, quickly catching the eye of talent agents.

His breakout role came in 2012 when he was cast as Victor Graham in the NBC comedy-drama Parenthood.

Playing the adopted son in the Braverman family, Xolo appeared in 51 episodes across the show’s six seasons, earning praise for his natural talent.

In 2018, Xolo’s career soared to new heights with his portrayal of Miguel Diaz in Cobra Kai, a martial arts series that serves as a continuation of the Karate Kid franchise.

As a high school student who finds strength and purpose through karate, Xolo brought depth and physicality to the role, making Miguel a fan favorite across the show’s six seasons.

His performance showcased his martial arts skills—honed since childhood—and his ability to convey emotional growth.

In 2023, Xolo made history as the first Latino superhero to lead a live-action film, starring as Jaime Reyes in Blue Beetle.

Beyond acting, Xolo has explored voice work in animated series like Victor and Valentino and Cleopatra in Space, co-hosted the Lone Lobos podcast with Cobra Kai co-star Jacob Bertrand, and even ventured into music with his 2023 debut single, “On My Way,” featuring Adriana Padilla.

    Accolades

Xolo’s talent has not gone unnoticed, earning him several accolades and nominations throughout his career.

In 2014, he won the Young Artist Award for Outstanding Young Ensemble in a TV Series for his work on Parenthood, recognizing his contribution to the show’s ensemble cast.

That same year, he also received the Imagen Award for Best Young Actor/Television, celebrating his impact as a young Latino performer.

His role in Cobra Kai brought further recognition, including a 2019 nomination for the Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a Streaming Series or Film.

The series itself has been nominated for prestigious honors like the Emmy Awards and Teen Choice Awards, winning a Rotten Tomatoes Award for Best TV Drama.

While Blue Beetle didn’t garner individual awards, Xolo’s historic casting and heartfelt performance were widely praised, adding to his growing legacy.
