As a senior, he was named Gatorade Player of the Year in Montana, highlighting his status as one of the state’s top high school athletes.

College Football Career

After high school, Osweiler received scholarship offers from programs such as Washington State Cougars football and Stanford Cardinal football, but he ultimately chose to attend Arizona State University.

While playing for the Arizona State Sun Devils football, he became the first true freshman quarterback to start a game for the program since Jake Plummer in 1993.

By his junior season, Osweiler had developed into one of the top quarterbacks in the Pac-12 Conference, finishing the year with 4,036 passing yards and 26 touchdowns before declaring for the NFL Draft.

Denver Broncos

Osweiler was selected by the Denver Broncos in the 2012 NFL Draft and signed a four-year rookie contract with the team.
