AOL is in overdrive to increase its African influence. The company which has recently acquired two major blogs, Techcrunch and HuffingtonPost, is now courting Nation Media group (East and Central Africa largest media house) to be its agent in the region. AOL honchos based in India have been talking to Nation Media managers.

The arrangement will see Nation media sell advertising space to clients in East Africa on behalf of AOL. This will see visitors on AOL products who are based in the region see relevant ads instead of seeing those from Google Ads and other platforms. NMG expects to sign an agreement with AOL in the coming weeks.

Sources at NMG tells me that the deal just awaits signing.
