Arati scoffs at his critics saying they were envious of his performance 

Kisii Governor Simba Arati Saturday said pyrethrum farming would be soon be revived across the County to spur economic growth among the residents. 

Already some farmers from Ichuni and Kiamoka Wards have received an initial batch of the seedlings from an American investor, the governor said.

“The quality of the seedlings being distributed are a great improvement from the old variety with the yield proved to be more. We hope our people would reap good returns once they begin harvesting it. Soon we shall roll out the distribution in other Wards too and the seedlings are issued free to the residents, “he told residents in Masige East in Bobasi after a Sabbath service.

At the same time he scoffed at his critics saying they were only fueled by envy.

“There is work going on, ask the Ward Reps, so much development going on now, if it is about water, we are already fixing springs and digging boreholes here and there ,” the governor told the residents.

The governor spoke of ongoing efforts by his government to improve infrastructure across the villages.

He also said bursary disbursements were already going on across the Wards.

He however warned of some mischief from some some people picking several bursary application forms for one student from their families.

“We have already taken note and as a warning, they will not be honoured when allocations begin. We will do this to teach you a lesson that greed doesn’t pay,” Arati stated.

He asked students who had scored average grades in their forth form examinations and those who were not able to continue studies to high school to join vocational colleges for technical courses.

“Tell our daughters not to hurry to marriages, even our boys, they should not rush to ride bodabodas. Let them do courses and contribute to nation building and by so doing get income to improve their livelihoods,” Arati said.

His government, he added, has already equipped most Tvet centres and that youth should enroll for courses in them.
