Allies of Deputy William Ruto are seeking justice for a disabled man run over by alleged government vehicles last weekend on a way to a meeting in Sagana. The meeting was being hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Speaking during the burial of Chris Nderitu, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua gave authorities 14 days to investigate the matter and bring to book those involved. “This man we are burying today, was killed like an animal. A family in Kiambagathi, Kirinyaga County is in distress after failing to raise Sh2 million in hospital bill arrears for their deceased kin. The family lost Beatrice Wanjiru to lung cancer a month ago but has been unable to give her a befitting funeral. Former Embu senator Lenny Kivuti has denied that his car ran over a disabled man on its way to highly publicised Sagana meeting hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta. Former Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama, Narok senator Ledama Olekina and Kirinyaga Woman Rep Purity Ngirici were disallowed to see Sonko. Irene Chesang has been charged with faking her Bachelor of Science Degree in International Business Administration from the United States International University Africa (USIU-Africa) and her Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate. Christopher Kinama, a church caretaker, was sacked by the man of the cloth over an alleged car park fees collection dispute. A US Christian missionary has been jailed for more than 15 years for sexually abusing teenage girls in Bomet, Kenya. Last year, Gregory Dow while appearing before a US federal court entered a guilty plea to four counts of engaging in illicit sexual behaviour with a minor in a foreign place between 2013 and 2017. 180 people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours from a 4,580 sample size, Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman has said. Kenya’s cases now stand at 101,339. According to Dr Aman, four more patients have succumbed to the virus, bringing the total fatality cases to 1,773. 83 patients have recovered from the virus; 30 are from various hospitals and 53 from Home-Based Care Programs. Kenyans have until December 2021 to get their e-passports. On Thursday, Interior CS Fred Matiang’i said the migration is part of a commitment made to migrate to the new East African Community biometric e-passport. Members of the county assembly Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) led residents in public hearings on Tuesday.
