The government has refuted claims that DNA samples will be taken during the Sh6 billion digital registration exercise that seeks to give everyone in the country a unique code dubbed “Huduma Namba.” The scope of data collection is allegedly restricted to external personally-identifying information (PII), including a digital photo, fingerprints and background information. A man, 30, was positively identified by three girls who he allegedly raped together with three others on Wednesday morning in Leiten, Kericho County. The thugs broke into their Leiten home, hacked a 73 year old woman to death and injured her husband, 78. Tension is high in Litein, Kericho County after a family of an area businessman was attacked in the wee hours of Wednesday morning. The man and his three daughters plus their maid were rushed to Litein Mission Hospital with severe injuries. His wife did not survive the ordeal. Murdered lawyer Robert Chesang’s marriage to Maisy Pauline Omungala Chesang, a magistrate who works in Nyeri was allegedly in shambles, reports indicate. DPP Noordin Haji will appeal the light sentencing of a former Ministry of Education cashier Perminus Njoroge Kamau. Mr Njoroge is said to have stolen Sh12,980,000 in 2011. A Kenyan man accused of embezzling Sh3.6 billion from a US company has been extradited to the United States from Costa Rica. Paul McDaniel alias Edward Martin Karuku is said to have stolen the funds from Hypermedia Systems, a media technology services firm based in downtown Los Angeles. Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji is on the spot after a Mombasa businessman accused him of threatening him with a gun during a raid at Reef Hotel two years. A Tanzanian court on Tuesday found a Chinese national popularly known as the “Ivory Queen” guilty of smuggling elephant tusks to Asia. According to BBC, Yang will be spending 15 behind bars. In 2015 Yang Feng Glan denied smuggling 860 pieces of ivory between 2000 and 2004 worth 13 billion shillings. She was charged alongside two Tanzanian men; Salivius Matembo and Manase Philemon. Four men on Friday, 15 February robbed a gaming cafe in Kasarani’s Sunton area. The incident took place at exactly 9.17 pm at Afrik Gaming Cafe near the bus terminal.
