NASA Presidential candidate, Raila Odinga was on Monday morning involved in what appeared to be a heated argument with one of the security officers at the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court Judges on Monday granted NASA access to IEBC servers. The court has allowed NASA access to read only access to select data and equipment used by the IEBC to transmit and conduct the elections. The seven judge bench has however rejected Raila Odinga’s request for unfettered access to the electoral commission servers. William Mwangi, a Kiambu politician was on Saturday shot dead inside his car after leaving Club U-Turn at around 3 am. Mwangi was vying for MCA Lari Kirenga on a Jubilee ticket but lost in the primaries. According to the police, the engineer was shot twice in the head and on his hand. NASA principals were on Sunday walked out of Prophet Owuor’s prayer rally that was held at the Central Park. Both Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula are said to have walked out of rally after the event organizers failed to give them a chance to address the congregation. The Presidential petition at the Supreme Court started on Saturday evening with NASA’s lead counsel, James Orengo arguing that the IEBC rigged the election in favour of the 3rd respondent, Uhuru Kenyatta. In his submission, Orengo claimed that the forms 34As provided by the electoral commission were infactnot the original forms. Four bodies have been recovered in Lake Victoria by Usoma Beach residents. The bodies are said to have been in body bags used by the police during the post election protests. The police will seal off Wabera street, City hall way and Taifa road in a bid to avoid ‘unnecessary interruptions’ as hearings start at the Supreme Court from 7pm Saturday. High court has upheld the plastic bags ban saying conserving the environment takes precedence over commercial interests. Justice Bernard Eboso said conserving the environment would be threatened if the ban was suspended and public interest at risk.
