Police in Mombasa are probing an incident where a man was fatally shot after his car was sprayed with bullet. The incident that took place at around 8.30 pm on Monday took place along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway near the Changamwe roundabout. “A Toyota Premio driven by one unknown male was driving from Kibarani towards Changamwe. Detectives have nabbed a Ghanaian national believed to have obtained money by false pretences from a senior manager at Tala, a popular mobile money lending firm. Malcom Bidali, a 28-year-old security guard, was arrested on May 5 and was placed in custody “for violating Qatar’s security laws and regulations”, Qatar’s Government Communication Office (GCO) said. Chief Justice Martha Koome on Monday gazetted the election of Justice Daniel Musinga as the President of the Court of Appeal. Justice Musinga will serve for a period of five years. Detectives have apprehended three suspects as they prepared to stage attacks against motorists along the Southern bypass. Brian Mwangi and Nickson Muchiri aged 25, were arrested on Sunday following an operation mounted by Lang’ata based police officers. The hunt for German national identified as Krabbe Dietter Gunther is over after he was found dead in Mombasa, Kilifi police boss Nelson Taliti has confirmed. Gunther’s body was found in Bamburi, Mombasa County, on the ground floor of a five-storey building in Kiembeni, Mr Taliti said. Kenya’s Covid-19 positivity rate is at 8.9 percent after 444 people tested positive for the disease, in the last 24 hours. These infections were from a sample size of 4,989 tested over the same period. Total confirmed positive cases are now 170,485 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,806,438. Of these cases, 435 are Kenyans while 9 are foreigners. 259 are males and 185 females. The youngest is a two-month-old infant while the oldest is 101 years. 1,171 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 4,682 patients are under the Home Based Isolation and Care program.…

Kenya has in the last 24 hours lost 16 Covid-19 patients, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has confirmed. In a statement on Friday, the minister said the country’s fatalities have now risen to 3,124. Over the same period, the country has recorded 344 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the total caseload to 170,041.
