A couple has dragged to court a Nairobi hospital for detaining their two children over a Sh4 million bill. Charles Ndonye and his wife Virginia Olembo had quadruplets on February 1 at Nairobi South Hospital but could not be discharged as the children needed medical attention. On February 26, however, Olembo was discharged with two of the babies as the others continued to receive treatment. Kisumu county government has approved Covid-19 containment measures after the area recorded a surge in positive cases. In a statement, the county administration said that in the last week alone, the positivity rate rose from 2.5 percent to 4.7 percent, almost a 100% rise. On Monday, of the 200 samples tested, 25 people tested positive for the virus with almost all the cases originating from Kisumu Central. Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua has defended ownership of a Sh1.5 billion prime property located in Nairobi. According to the lawmaker, the property which is situated Industrial Area, was purchased in 2012 through his company, Wamunyoro Investment ltd. Police have opened an investigation into the death of a Thika businessman whose remains were found in his car in Gatanga. Samuel Murigi’s body was discovered in his Toyota double cabin pickup (Reg No KAQ 553 P) by his wife, Catherine Nduta. He was lying in the driver’s cabin when she found him. A Nairobi court on Monday dismissed an application by Felix Orinda aka Dj Evolve to withdraw the attempted murder case against Embakasi East MP Babu Owino. In October, the disc jockey through his lawyer, Kenneth Mumbo, said he wanted to concentrate on his health rather than the case. Christian Longomba, one half of the Longombas, is dead, family has confirmed. He is said to have been undergoing treatment for a recurrent brain tumor when he developed complications and succumbed. The deceased was first diagnosed with the tumor in 2015. He underwent surgery successfully but had to be operated on again after medics discovered blood clots in his brain.
