A suspect believed to have obtained millions of shillings from Kenyans in a fraudulent scheme known as Amazon Web Worker was arrested yesterday after she jetted into the country, from the US. Detectives at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a notorious suspect who is said to drug unsuspecting revelers in Kiambu County and its environs. The suspect, identified as Irene Njoki Ndung’u uses a pseudonym “Michelle” to avoid unmasking her true identity. The newly refurbished Kisumu Port is expected to support the livelihoods of millions of people in parts of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. A court in Nyeri has declined to award Sh28,000 monthly upkeep to a woman and her child. The woman, only identified as JWM wanted the court to compel her ex-husband to pay the monthly fee. Justice Florence Nyaguthii Muchemi said the lady was not under any gainful employment and should therefore not impose full maintenance responsibility on the ex-husband. The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) has announced a Ksh1.2 billion facelift for Kisumu International Airport to improve customer experience and reposition the facility as a regional aviation hub. The Ksh1.2 billion upgrade will see the passenger tower building expanded to handle one million passengers per year up from the current 500,000. Over five million jobs were lost in 2020 in the informal sector due to Covid-19 pandemic, the Federation of Kenya Employers (FKE) Executive Director Jacqueline Mugo has said. This is in relation to a micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) study carried out in Kilifi, Busia and Kitui counties between March and August.
