A Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) officer allegedly shot dead three of his relatives at Jua Kali in Eldoret. According to reports, the soldier drove himself to the homestead where his kin were at around 5:30 am on Tuesday. Upon his arrival, the KDF officer opened fire at the home killing his aunt and his two uncles. He then turned the gun to himself and committed suicide. The Mombasa Port has become a garage for 438 vehicles as the importers have failed to offset the high duty charges imposed by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA). As if that were not enough, KRA has now threatened to auction the vehicles if the importers failed to clear them by May 15. Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri has fired National Cereals and Produce Board acting Managing Director Albin Sang. In a statement shared on Monday, the CS noted that he had consequently appointed the deputy director agriculture, Zachary Magara, to replace Sang. Uganda Radio Stations have been warned against hosting members of the opposition party including Dr Kizza Besigye. Speaking on the matter, the chairperson of Lango Radio Owners Association Mr JB Okello Okello noted that several radio station managers had been warned against hosting authorities from the opposition party. Police have arrested at least 10 people over the killing of Red Cross Volunteer, Amina Bakari, in Lamu. Ms Bakari was hacked to death in Mbwajumwali village, Lamu East, four days ago. According to reports, Bakari, who was also a Nyumba Kumi official, was murdered by unknown assailants as she closed her shop at around 11 pm. A police officer has been arrested on Friday in connection with the Ksh14.5 million Barclays Bank heist. According to a report seen by Kahawa Tungu, the police officer, George Gachungui Njoroge, was arrested by ECCU officer from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters. Officer Njoroge, who is attached to operations at Isiolo area, was arrested for the offence of conspiracy to commit a felony which is contrary to section 393 of the penal code. The lawyer who admitted to shooting his son is expected to take a plea at Kiambu Law Courts before moving to Makadara Law Courts.
