At least five people were Thursday injured in a clash between two groups over circumcision rites in Tiriki, Vihiga County. Circumcision of young boys is common in the area during the holiday. Police said one group nicknamed Ngozi had gathered a group of boys and headed to a shrine behind the local Kaimosi Special School. And while walking and dancing towards Shamakhokho and at Kwa Sabatia area, the group was attacked by another one. Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu was released from prison on a Sh53 million bond pending hearing of his appeal. He had served at least five months jail as he fought to be released. A 20-year-old man drowned in a river as he tried to retrieve one of his sandals that had tripped there in Amakura area, Teso, Busia County. Police and locals said Evans Elima was crossing River Malakisi on Tuesday July 29 evening when his plastic sandal fell therein. A 44-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after suspected bandits attacked him with an arrow in a village in Borabu, Nyamira County. An Ethiopian national was arrested over the murder of a fellow Ethiopian in a love triangle saga in Takaba, Mandera County. US authorities are warning consumers of Celsius energy drinks to check their cans after some were accidently filled with vodka. The US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) issued the warning for the Astro Vibe Blue Razz edition of the drink. The mix-up came about after a packaging supplier mistakenly shipped empty Celsius cans to the vodka seltzer company High Noon, which filled them with alcohol. President Donald Trump says the US will charge a 15% tariff on imports from South Korea, in what he called a “full and complete trade deal”. Social media giant Meta Platforms has says its have profits soared and is pumping billions of dollars more into artificial intelligence (AI) projects.
