A small medical transport plane crashed into several buildings in north-east Philadelphia, setting homes and vehicles ablaze and injuring people on the ground. Venezuela freed six US detainees after talks in Caracas between President Nicolás Maduro and a senior Trump administration official. The release of the men was announced on social media by Donald Trump and his special envoy, Richard Grenell. Kenya issued a public alert following the declaration of an outbreak of the Sudan Ebola Virus Disease in neighbouring Uganda. Former Chief Justice David Maraga Friday condemned the abduction and killing of the Mlolongo four in Nairobi.  The Mlolongo residents Justus Mutumwa, Martin Mwau, Steve Mbisi and Karani Muema were reportedly abducted on December 17, 2024. The abductors were initially looking for Mbisi and first arrested Mutumwa, Mwau and Muema and forced them to reveal where Mbisi lived. A Nairobi court issued an arrest warrant for Alfred Mbugua Gicheha for absconding court sessions for 14 months. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is calling upon members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest of Gicheha. The Cooperative Tribunal sitting in Nairobi ordered embattled PCEA elder David Nderitu Ndumo to pay the Sh8.3 million he owes Sheria SACCO or face jail. This follows a case where Ndumo took original a loan facility totalling Sh5.6 million but has adamantly declined to pay forcing his guarantors to go to court to force him pay. Nairobi vehicle dealer Joseph Kairu Wambui, popularly known as Khalif Kairo, was granted a personal bond of Sh3 million on Friday after multiple days in police custody.  His lawyer, Davinson Makau, informed Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina that Kairo was unable to raise the Sh3 million cash bail and requested the court to consider granting a personal bond. A conductor of a lorry was electrocuted as he offloaded sawdust in Athi River, Machakos County. Police said Anthony Njuguna was in the company of his driver and were offloading the product when he accidentally touched a live wire in mining area. The two were offloading the product within Getech Maxinav Company on Wednesday evening when the incident happened. Police are investigating an incident in which a mob lynched a 32-year-old man on suspicion of being a thief as his mom pleaded with them to spare him in Highrise area, Nairobi. The deceased was identified as Kevin Kimani and was accused of stealing unknown goods from the public in the area.
