Acting Inspector General of Police Gilbert Masengeli was Friday sentenced to six months imprisonment for contempt of court. High Court judge Justice Lawrence Mugambi delivered the ruling after the police boss failed to honour court summons seven consecutive times. Details are emerging of an apparent raid by Israeli special forces on a “Hezbollah missile production facility” in Syria.  Israel’s government has said nothing about the operation which, according to US media reports, took place at the beginning of the week. The war against criminal gangs in Haiti received a boost after two dozen soldiers and police officers from Jamaica arrived in Port-au-Prince to join a U.N.-backed mission led by Kenya to fight powerful criminal gangs. At least six school-going children were Friday September 13 morning killed in a road accident at Wiitu shopping center on the Kitui-Kibwezi road, Kitui County. Officials said the victims included three primary school children and three from secondary school. Tragedy struck a construction site after at least four workers were Friday morning killed when walls of a sewer line they were constructing collapsed in Nairobi’s Shauri Moyo area.  Three others were rescued after the tragedy which happened on Friday at about 5 am, police and other rescuers said. Four activists for black rights have been convicted of federal charges of conspiring to act as unregistered Russian agents, the Justice Department said. Omali Yeshitela, 82, Penny Hess, 78, Jesse Nevel, 34, and Augustus Romain, 38, face maximum sentences of five years in prison, the department said in a statement.
