Detectives are investigating an incident in which a 31-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by the pastor and members of a Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church in Homa Bay County over missing food. Nearly 90 weather-related deaths have been recorded across the US after the country was pummelled by ferocious winter storms for the past week. The deaths include at least 25 in Tennessee and 16 in Oregon, which remains under a state of emergency following severe ice storms. Almost the whole of the UK is under weather warnings as strong winds from Storm Isha sweep in. Police’s hope to solve the murder mystery of university student Rita Waeni Muendo were uplifted after the discovery of a human head in a dam in Kiambu.  This gave a clue on where the killer headed to after the murder on January 13 at an apartment in Roysambu. An explosion at a major gas export terminal near the city of St Petersburg in Russia was carried out by Ukrainian drones, BBC News has been told. The blast caused a large fire at the Ust-Luga terminal, but no injuries, Russian officials said. At least 25 people were killed in a shelling attack in the Russian-held city of Donetsk, the Moscow-installed leader of the region said. Denis Pushilin said a Ukrainian strike, which also injured 20 people, hit a busy market. A suspect who was wanted over the fatal shooting of a man in Kibera was Saturday evening fatally shot after a dramatic chase by police along Jogoo Road, Nairobi. The suspect was popularly known as The Man De Free and was wanted for a series of robbery and murder claims in the city, police said. A man is admitted in hospital after he tried to die by suicide moments after he had stabbed his wife in Ntimaru, Migori County. The incident happened on January 19 and involved Rosa Nchagua Moseti, 32 in Siabai Location, Ntimaru Sub-County in Migori. Police said the man slit the woman’s throat killing her. He then tried to also die by suicide but was rescued by neighbours who rushed him to Ntimaru Sub-County Hospital and later referred to Migori County Referral Hospital for treatment. Interior Cabinet Secretary Prof. Kithure Kindiki designated as specified entities eight individuals under the Prevention of Terrorism Act for aiding terrorist activities in the country. The move came after the eight failed to explain themselves before authorities on why they should not be designated as specified entities. A Kenyan woman who had flown to India as a tourist was arrested at Kempegowda International Airport for smuggling 2.6 kilos of cocaine valued at Sh13 million.  The narcotics were under the false bottom of her suitcase, police in India said.
