Police are looking for a gang of three that raided a home in Malunga village, Migori County and defiled a 15-year-old girl. The gang also raped her mother before robbing her Sh6,000 in the Monday morning incident, police said. The men were wearing facemasks when they struck at about 1 am. The girl was to join form one. Two Chinese nationals were Monday arrested at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport while trying to fly out with 549 Safaricom sim cards. The men identified as Zhang Shihua, 58 and Zhang Cheng, 44 were intercepted by Kenya Airports Authority officers at the central screening terminal 1A departures while preparing to board China Southern Airways destined to China. Upon scanning Shihua’s hand luggage officials found him carrying 549 Safaricom sim cards in two small boxes. The suspect behind the murder of a 24-year-old woman whose mutilated body was found stuffed in a paper bag off Thika Road in Nairobi could be a Kenyan. This is contrary to earlier claims the killer is a foreigner. This came out after it emerged the man stayed in Ruaka area, Kiambu County. He made the call to book the house where he killed the woman from Ruaka and seemed to have stayed there for sometime, police said. Kenya and Tanzania have resolved to settle the travel restrictions between the two East African countries. Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi said he was in talks with his Tanzanian counterpart, January Makamba, over the issue. Tanzania is set to ban Kenya Airways (KQ) flights from Nairobi to Dar es Salaam. In a statement, Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) said the ban will take effect from January 22. A 70-year-old woman has been killed and 12 other people injured in what police say was a terrorist attack in Israel. They say two Palestinians from the occupied West Bank have been arrested over the incident in Raanana, about 20km (12.5 miles) north of Tel Aviv. The suspects allegedly switched between three stolen vehicles and ran over pedestrians in different places. In a pivotal move to enhance public finance management, the Cabinet Monday approved the implementation of the Treasury Single Account (TSA) for National and county governments. During a cabinet meeting chaired by President William Ruto at State House Nairobi, the Cabinet underscored the importance of the TSA in simplifying government banking, creating visibility of government cash resources and increasing transparency in government cash management. Additionally, the new system will help control expenditure and minimise fragmentation of government accounts in commercial banks. Gender CS Aisha Jumwa has condemned Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka for calling for the banning of pregnant teen girls from resuming studies. A police officer collapsed and died as he waited to board a bus in Nairobi’s Central Business District. Joshua Apella Odwar attached to Ruai Police Station was waiting to board a bus at the Easy Coach bus booking office when he collapsed and died. Ally Himili Hussein, 22 was nabbed at the Liboi border as he walked towards Somalia direction on January 13.
