The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Monday disclosed that 3,609 people died in road accidents between January and October 2023. This is a drop in the number of fatalities in the same period last year, which stood at 3,936 reflecting an 8.31 per cent drop. Police are holding seven suspects over terror claims in Hawinga area within Alego-Usonga in Siaya County. A multi-agency team camping in the area staged an operation and arrested the seven on Sunday. At least one person was Saturday night killed and several houses burnt in a raid in Marafa and Poromoko villages in Lamu county.
